Premier Houseboats are delighted to present Carole A, a superbly converted tug on a secure residential mooring — a beautiful and characterful floating home that comes fully furnished and ready to enjoy.
Originally built by Richard Dunston in 1943 and sympathetically refitted in 2023, Carole A has been thoughtfully transformed into a spacious and comfortable residence while retaining her original charm. Many original fittings have been carefully incorporated, creating a unique blend of maritime heritage and modern living.
The large open-plan living area is truly stunning, featuring solid wood flooring, a high ceiling, and an abundance of natural light. The galley kitchen is superbly designed, offering excellent storage and workspace, and includes a brand-new AI washing machine, condenser tumble dryer, undercounter freezer, Smeg fridge, and gas oven and hob.
A wet room follows, complete with a generous shower area, macerator toilet, and hand basin. Beyond this lies a large double cabin with a built-in bed. Forward of the saloon, the former crew quarters can easily be adapted into a second double bedroom with minimal work.
On the deck level, there is a dedicated office area, while the wheelhouse — currently used for storage — could be converted into a bright day lounge with panoramic views. Heating and hot water are provided by a log burner, LPG boiler, and cast-iron radiators, ensuring warmth and comfort all year round.
Externally, Carole A offers a large amount of usable deck space, perfect for outdoor dining or simply relaxing and enjoying the peace of the surroundings. She is proudly listed on the National Historic Ships Register, adding to her charm and historical significance.
